YOU ARE NOT DOING TOO MUCH
! You are exactly who God created you to be!
In a world that pressures women ( Especially us Shea butter babies) to shrink, soften, or silence themselves, when Jesus calls us to stand tall, speak boldly, and shine brightly.
Your strength, your voice, your heart, your creativity are not too much. They are evidence of God’s intentional design. You were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), chosen and deeply loved. In Christ, you are enough because His grace is your sufficiency (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Your identity in Christ sets you free.
You are not defined by your past, people’s opinions, or your own doubts. You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), handcrafted for purpose and impact (Ephesians 2:10). You don’t have to apologize for your presence or your passion. If you are loud, colorful, weird, talkative, or anything else you can think of, BE JUST THAT! Be loud and proud with who you are. God doesn’t want you to be “less” He wants you to walk boldly in who He made you to be. You are just the right mix of grace and fire, created for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).
For my GIRLS that’s praying for a husband if you don’t have one, I want you to know men fall in love with Who YOU are! If he don’t like that you are too loud or he feels you do too much, ohh well tell him take it up with God! Don’t change who you are for anyone! Someone who is for you is gonna love every part of you! Same goes with finding the right crowd! If your friendship is God ordained, you don’t have to change a single thing about you! Remember being confident in who you are really inspires others! Never dem your light trying to please the crowd!
(SINGS 🎤) BE WHO YOU ARRREEEEEEE, FOR YOU ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! 🎶🎶🎶
Father God,
Thank You for creating me with purpose, beauty, and strength. You formed me with intention, every detail, every trait, every part of me is fearfully and wonderfully made. Help me to walk boldly in who You’ve created me to be, without shrinking to fit someone else’s mold. Let me never forget that I am enough not because of what the world says, but because of who I am in You.
Lord, when the pressure to conform or quiet my voice grows loud, remind me that my identity is rooted in You. Fill me with Your Spirit so I can rise with confidence, stand in truth, and lead with grace. Teach me to value my uniqueness and never trade it for approval. Let me be empowered not by applause, but by Your presence. Use my life to reflect Your light authentically, unapologetically, and courageously.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
I enjoyed reading your Blog. It was definitely some things you wrote about that resonated with me. I often felt like I was not accepted due to my personality, anyone that knows me, know that I love to laugh, assist others, be in a great debate (with respect ) of course. I was also told you are loud. Hey!, most of us were raised with a lot
of noise in our homes or not. I’m trying to say that my loudness is part of MY culture. Later in life it became more of a DEFENSE, I used it to let people know “Don’t play with me!! I had to say it nice for the BLOG, but you get my drift…
Being accepted has always been a struggle for me. But when I started a meaningful relationship with God that feeling no longer existed. I know who I am and I’m proud of the person that I am.
Whewwwwww… When your own daughter writes a word that checks your soul and charges your spirit?! That’s the kind of fire only Heaven can spark. And Melany, you sparked it, lit it, and fanned it into flames. 🙌🏾🔥 Reading your blog “You Are Not Too Much” felt like a sacred mirror. I saw my younger self, raw and radiant, bold in belief but still learning to embrace the fullness of who God called me to be. But more than that, I saw a next-level LeadHER walking boldly in her own oil. And I honor that.
This wasn’t just a blog. It was a sistHERhood call to arms. A trumpet sound to every woman who’s ever been told she’s "too loud," "too deep," "too…
This is something ive struggled with my whole life, not sure if people will except me for who i am so always trying to adapt or dim my light. I made a promise to myslef to be unapologetically me and im going to stick to that.
I recently post the I do not get in where I fit in. I am placed where I belong. Your blog and those words are connected. Each of us shines in a different light. The confidence I have stepped into will always keep my light shining bright because that’s what God wants for me. I pray that every eye that sees this post light shines no matter what.
