InspiHERation from the Psalms to defeat, defeat and take your power back!

Few things in life are certain. but one thing for certain, two things for sure”? At one point or another, sometimes more times than not, you are going to feel defeated and deeply disheartened. You'll be let down by the people you trust the most, you'll fail a course or task required for you to move to the next level in life, you'll be passed up yet again for a promotion, a small fight with your BFF or significant other will suddenly turn into a full-blown falling out, you'll get ghosted with no warning signs or no reason at all, unexpected bills will force you to dip into your already minimal savings, you'll feel like every space you walk into is filled with negative vibes, complaints, zero cooperation, with just flat out confusion.
All these things will leave you FLAT OUT EXHAUSTED, DISHEARTENED, and DEFEATED.
I mean why even get out of bed, why even try, why even bother? Sis! I get it!
Yes! I have been there, Yes! you have been there! Maybe you are there right now.
Although defeat is inevitable, God has left us sure-fire Godly inspiHERation to remind you of how to defeat, defeat, and take our power back, and I'm going to share 3 strategies that are sure to pick you up and move you forward.
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

In this passage of scripture in Psalm 28:7 King David was encouraging himself during a time when he was feeling defeated. He could overcome defeat by reminding himself of 3 truths, The Lord is my strength, I must put my trust in the Lord, and I can activate my inner strength by finding Joy in what the Lord has done for me throughout my life.
#1: Remember The LORD is your STRENGTH
Defeat is evitable when we as Christians trust in our own strength. We must remember that we are nothing within ourselves. Sometimes God will use disappointments to check us. Yes! We can get cocky with it Sis! You knew you had the credentials and experience. Your resume was top tier, and you just knew you killed it in the interview, you didn't even say a prayer before you went in the interview or even acknowledge God about applying for the position. You saw the money and said this is mine! Then weeks later you get the devasting disappointing email, "We've decided to move forward with another candidate". Yes, I'm preaching to me, and maybe you too. Be reminded: The Lord is Your Strength
2 Corinthians 3:4-5 TPT We carry this confidence in our hearts because of our union with Christ before God. Yet we don’t see ourselves as capable enough to do anything in our own strength, for our true competence flows from God’s empowering presence.
DEUTERONOMY 8:18 But you shall remember [with profound respect] the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore (solemnly promised) to your fathers, as it is this day.
Maybe it wasn't a job, maybe you knew He was the one, that school was the one, that test was aced, when we misplace our confidence in anything outside of God we set our selves up for defeat. When we place our confidence in God we create the perfect platform for God to put in his power on display. You may not be qualified, you may not be deserving, you may not have the experience, but with God's strength working through us,
His Power makes all things possible for us.
#2: Remember to Trash Your Trust Issues
Yes! Let's be honest, some of us have trust issues, and it spills over into our relationship with God. The reality is YES! People will let you down. Yes, people will disappoint you. One of the things that happens when we become so preoccupied with the realities of our past experiences, is that we stop trusting in God. And, that’s a big mistake. An imperfect world filled with sin and free will is bound to carry disappointment and produce feelings of defeat, and suddenly, God doesn't seem trustworthy. Why did he not come through for us? Why would he allow that bad thing to happen?
God is trustworthy!
No, our lives will not always look pretty. No, our world will not always look pretty, but be encouraged through t reminder that:
God makes use of every good and bad thing for those who love Him (Romans 8:28)
Rest in the Power that He is working all things together for your Good!
#3: Remember that JOY is your superpower
Satan’s Doom, Gloom, and Disappointments are like toxins released into the lives of the saints., but the JOY of the Lord is the antidote! 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 succinctly lays out “God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” which is to “rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.” When circumstances seem bleak, the indwelling Holy Spirit makes it possible for us to choose joy. We have eternal wellsprings of joy that don’t depend on the ebb and flow of earthly joys. When we feel defeated we activate joy by remembering the times that God has given us the victory! The holy spirit reminds us of times we felt defeated before, and how God's power raised us to victory through Christ Jesus! Jesus is our Joy, Jesus is our Champion, We are never defeated! I mean how can we be defeated when our team has never lost a battle? It's team Jesus for the win, even when it looks like we are losing we have Joy in knowing that God is going to redeem the situation, He is going to come through, and we praise him in advance for the victory. Sis! We are undefeated over here! It's perfectly human to feel defeated at times, but my prayer is that the holy spirit will raise to your remembrance the truth in the fact that GIRL Get Up and take your Power Back!
Let us Pray
Lord, help us trust you. We confess that we don’t always believe that we can. We think we know better than you how our lives should go. We confess for those times that we've felt like you made mistakes. It’s too easy to doubt that you our my best in mind. Lord, forgive us for leaning on our own understanding. We admit that we hold on so hard to the comfortable feeling of control. Our grip on our plans, our work, and our families are far too tight, and we know that we've allowed the disappointment in these places to leave us feeling defeated. God empower us to step firmly into your strength. Help us remember that our Joy and hope in you is what gives us strength. Give us the strenth to get up and take our power back!
In Christ's name, we pray Amen
Reflection
Think on a time when you've felt defeated,
What actions led you to feel defeated?
How did/will you activate the 3 points of inspiration to get up and take your power back?
Which reminder resonated most with you, that will you share with others when you have an opportunity to encourage someone who is feeling defeated?
Don't forget to complete the three R's

I was make the God sent in my life pay for other people mistakes. I had quit my job. And went backwards. Well I felt like everything was going backwards in my life. No I didn’t trust God anymore at all. I even stop going my home church. I lost a lot Joy last year. I got so lazy I wasn’t even keeping my self up like I normally do. And that wasn’t at all. PROVERBS 3:5-6 (message bible)
"Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track." I have to learn not to depend on my own, learn to depend on GOD. TRUST HEAR & OBEY....❤️
Im dealing with somethings right now. I feel I've done everything I can. I must remember that the Lord is my strength, and I put all my trust in him! All three reminders resonate with me.
This message was on time and very inspirational. There are so many things that come up in our lives on a daily basis that can make us feel defeated and want to give up but when we remember where our strength and help comes from, we can make it through another day. We have to get up and take our power back like the writer said. We have to remember that no weapon formed shall prosper, we are more than conquerors through Christ who is our strength. 💕
I felt defeated when my baby girl told me she like girls. I cried and prayed, wondering what happened.
I know God can take care of her better than I can.
