GIRL, MORPHE. It's time to begin the journey of becoming!

Updated: Mar 7, 2024

Let's take a look at what happens as we begin to allow God to show us who we are and what we are to become. We must admit whether we wanted to or not a shift has occurred causing us to begin to walk into some of the realities of God as we experience him. We've had to make major adjustments and join God in what he is doing here in the earth. So the blogs about shifting, sweeping around our own from doors (and the closet too), and prioritizing are right on time.

I remember praying for God to show me myself. Not only did i ask him to show me myself, i also asked him to reveal what my purpose was. Now you know that God does all things well. And when you start to pray prayers of him revealing what is in you, that he reveals the good, the bad, the ugly, as well as what you are to become.

When was the last time that you asked God to show you yourself?

Do you know what is inside of you?

Why did God send you from heaven to earth?

Until you're in the right environment, around the right people, being mentored, cultivated, rooted and grounded in the word of God. You'll never become what you were meant to be. Who you are to become is the reason why you are here and it is also a part of your life.

Now back to the story. I begin asking God to show me who i was and he did exactly that. He allowed me to come in contact with a male version of myself. As we began conversating and learning each other i noticed that we had a lot of similarities. But as we continued i begin seeing a lot in him that i did not like. God spoke to me and reminded me that I had asked him to show me myself so he allowed me to see it up close and personal, live and in living color. This is what caused me to say Lord change me.

Now i have always considered myself as a blossoming butterfly. Why? I'm glad you asked. Because i started out as something that's not so pleasant to the eyes, but as i began to allow God to begin his work in me, i started transforming into someone that was more appealing. Which brings me to my subject. GiRL Morphe!

MetamorphoSIS is the process of becoming. It's a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means. We are being transformed spiritually into the image and likeness of Christ.

Just as the butterfly have 4 stages there are also 4 stages that we go through spiritually in order for us to transform into what God has called us to be.

1.) Cleaning Up Stage

This is the time where God draws us unto him. We begin to change in how we think, act, what we say as well as set boundaries. John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day."

2.)Growing Up Stage

This is the stage where emotional maturity takes place. Where we become women of character and integrity. Character is who you are. Integrity is when what you say and do line up. You begin to take on a new personality. This is also the stage where we unlearn and relearn. Meaning things we were taught as children (raised in the church or not that we thought were right), God begins to give us his mind and his thoughts. We begin to learn his character more and walk like him because he is now in us and we are in him. 2 Peter 3 “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

3.)Waking Up Stage

This is the stage where we begin having our spiritual encounters. This is the stage where we get out of ourselves and into the spirit. You pray more, study more, surrender, love more, and have a deeper relationship with God. Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters."

4.) Showing Up Stage

This is the final stage and the stage where you bring your heart and mind into the actual suffering and problems of the world. It's what we do often. Engagement, social presence, and sincere concern for others beyond oourselves We need more people in the trenches. Venture out into the deep GIRL; but only as God leads and guides you. John 14:12 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

I don't know what stage you are in on your personal journey. I do know that we can't focus on only one stage. We must go through each stage in order for us to fully MORPHE into who we are destined to be.

Feel free to discuss with your accountability partner about where you are in your journey. Sit, think, and meditate on the word of God and ask Him to continue the work that he has begun in you and to allow you to MORPHE into who he has called you to be.

I leave you with a favorite quote of mine by Ray T. Bennett "Don't just exist, live. It's only after you've stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow, and transform."

Lord God my heavenly Father, I thank you for the work that you have begun in GIRLS collectively as well as individually. As you take us through this journey i ask that you will make every crooked way straight, exalt every valley, and bringlow every mountain. Teach us to walk in your statues and ways. Thank you for creating in us clean hearts and renewing right spirits. Thank you that our hearts and hands are clean. Thank you that we have your mind and think your thoughts. Continue to purge us, wash us white as snow, and prepare us for the journey ahead. Bless this organization and founder indeed, enlarge territories, keep us from evil so that we won't cause hurt or harm. Also give us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. We decree it, declare, and call it forth in the mighty name of Jesus, AMEN!

I thank God for coming across this blog. I have found myself in at least two of these stages and I am asking God to change me and show me who I am in him. I pray that whatever he reveals he also converts. I am so grateful to him for all of the stages that my GIRL shared in this blog. I know I have some work to do. Keep me in your prayers , I want to be the woman God created me to be.

So I know this is last month's blog but however God sent me back to this blog and now I see why. This blog is just what I need to identify where I am, who I am, & what stage I'm at in my metamorphosis. Previously I asked God to show me who I was & honestly I was absolutely ecstatic with the good but the bad & ugly I totally disregarded because honestly I didn't want to deal with it! However I understand now that I must face & deal with it all in order to continue my metamorphosis! God reveal to me yesterday that I must make a choice & I'm choosing to be a BUTTERFLY 🦋 S…

My GIRL, I felt every bit of this response and had to reply. I too, seen the bad and ugly in the revealing process and ran for cover. Now, I really need God to bring me into a place of freedom. Thank you for being transparent.

We definitely have to be ready for the response when we ask God to “Show Me Me!” LOL. I think it’s also important to understand that you may be in different stages at the same time depending on what aspect of your life you are examining. God has recently taken me through the “growing up” stage as it relates to marriage even though I was minister and “showing up” each week at church. Now, that I have been awakened to what it truly means to be a Godly wife, I can show up completely different for my husband. This journey looks different in all my different relationships. But it’s important to examine each one and not assume because you are…

Hello somebody, indeed. You said a mouthful. I just learned some stuff about myself that hurt my feelings when God started pulling it out of me.
